Adrienne Weidert

This bun headed journey began one night when she saw an open-air performance of Swan Lake in St. Louis, MO. From that moment on she knew she wanted to be a ballerina. Stating with ballet and tap classes at the ripe age of 3, Adrienne Weidert, has been moving and shaken since she can remember.
Dancing, performing and choreographing all through her life in places like Milwaukee School of Ballet, Boston Ballet School, London’s Royal Academy of Dance, Urdang Dance Academy, and Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Gardens, England. Adrienne’s life took a different turn when she broke her back and was told she would likely never be able to dance again. But that didn’t stop this girls determined heart, she continued to work on herself and become an expert on the human body. Learning and instructing people on how and why the body moves the way it does is one of her passions.
Adrienne’s first exposure to vintage swing dancing was when she went to a local Southern California dance at Birraporetis. The combination of the live music, fun partner dancing and above all else the wonderfully cheerful style! She was sold and gained a eccentric addiction for shopping for vintage merchandise. She didn’t just want do a dance, she wanted to be immersed into it. Surrounding her self with the classic feel of Americana, she was able to grasp the knowledge of how to do all these vintage dances like Lindy Hop, Balboa and Shag. Swing dancing almost every night of the week was something that drove her heart all a flutter. Sometimes even dancing till 5 am! What keeps her hooked is the depth of the dance, and how she can both dive into its past as well as push the limits and keep re-defining and expanding it for a lifetime to come.
Adrienne brings together her two dance worlds of the classically trained dancer she is along with the organic driven world of swing! Making her own mark on the dance then sharing it with the next generation of dancers.
