About Us

"Shake That Thing" at the Jump Session Show

Jazz music is a purely American art form that has fueled many of the cultural and social aspects of our nation. From the glitz and glamor of Hollywood to the renaissance of Harlem and  to the low down charisma of New Orleans; Jazz music was there to inspire and start a movement. Taking inspiration from the past, we’ve formed a hot, new “dance group” under the name, Hot Club Stomp! Aiming to reenergize those times of a classic era by bring them into the modern light.

The ideals of Hot Club Stomp remind unchanged: to bring our beloved American Jazz dances to the public eye and educate any and all of those willing to learn. Many of the members started their dance careers at different times but our combined dance experiences and talents are timeless. Each member started by learning the biggest and best jazz dance creation, you may know it as Jitterbug, Swing or Jive. But we like to call it Lindy Hop!

Today, the dancers of Hot Club Stomp travel the world instructing dancers in Asia, Europe and even right here in the United States, on the roots and fundamentals of vintage swing dances like Balboa, Shag, Solo Jazz and Lindy Hop. Teaching 10 to 12 hour days and then preforming to packed houses is what we live for! But not only do we perform and teach but we give back to the community as well with our members doing philanthropist work in creating and engineering the hugely successful 24 Hour Cancer Dance-A-Thon. Since 2005 the Dance-A-Thon has raised over $500,000 for the City of Hope cancer research center in Los Angeles, California.

Members of Hot Club Stomp are feature award winning performers and choreographers. With such credits as being featured performers on the hit ABC show “Dancing With The Stars” and on the FOX dance competition show “So You Think You can Dance” as choreographers. Their work can also be seen in the Katy Perry music video, “Thinking of You.”

The members of Hot Club Stomp have dedicated their lives to the learning and understanding of the classic, American jazz age performances of song and dance. Such dances as; Balboa, Shag, Chorus Girl acts, Tap dancing, Fan dance, Slow Blues dancing, and of course Lindy Hop. From our home base of ATOMIC Ballroom, where we train for hours and hours, sometimes late into the late night, to perfect our craft and bring you the absolute best in dance entertainment!
